I have worked as a designer, illustrator, and sculptor in various areas of the nebulous Hollywood entertainment industries since when I first arrived in the Southern California area.
I have worked on many blockbuster feature films and popular television shows over my thirty-four-year career, mostly as a master sculptor, but also as a special effects technician and fabricator, a prop maker and model and miniature fabricator. I have worked as a freelance sculptor in the toy and collectibles industries as well as having worked as an illustrator in the greeting card industry.
I have worked as an actor and voice-over artist having started out in Hollywood as a movie and television background professional and have worked on location shoots all over the Southern California area, thus gaining a lot of knowledge about the surrounding cities and their respective landmarks and popular attractions. As a side note, you can hear my voice as the parrot in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride as well as the voice of the Police Dispatcher on the police phone in Mickey Mouse's Toon Town at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California.
I am very happy to share my accumulated knowledge of over thirty-three years of living and working in Southern California as well as the fact that I am still working in the Hollywood Entertainment Industry.
I have lived in Southern California since 1983. I love the beaches. I love the micro-breweries that have really started to take hold in the Southern California region over the last fifteen years or so. I'm a chef who worked in Kyoto, Japan in the Gion district back in 1988, and although I am no longer a professional chef, I am still a foodie, so I know about a lot of good eateries and places to get a quiet or a noisy beverage.
I'm in my mid-fifties, so I would probably be a better fit for travelers who are seeking advice on places where people in their forties, fifties, and sixties would like to see the sights, get some golf in, where to get a good, affordable meal and a refreshing microbrew or other adult beverage.
I speak some Spanish and I am semi-fluent in Japanese. Also, I have driven all over the Southern California area covering all of Los Angeles County, Orange County and even much of San Diego and the surrounding area, as well as having made many trips up to Santa Barbara (one of my wife's and my favorite little coastal towns).
